Calculating Purchase Costs

You can use Easy Insight to report on additional costs such as freight and duties across your purchase items.

The prebuilt dashboard includes two reports under the Purchases section, Purchase Invoice Amounts and Purchase Cost What If. Purchase Invoice Amounts lets you look at purchase amounts and quantities by product, including associated freight, other charges, and journals:

Purchase Amounts

The Purchase Cost What If report provides you with option for estimating your purchase costs based on projected demand, current stock, and what if options for cost % increase and freight % increase:

Purchase Cost What If

You can use this report to look at how much of a given product you might need to stock up on before any projected cost increases. Demand uses the same forecasting calculations as used in other forecast reports, which include the use of a product as a raw material for assembly or production.

You can use the filters to only choose purchases that come from suppliers in a certain country. You can also edit the report yourself and add a filter on Supplier or anything else that will help you in analyzing projected purchase costs.

To choose which purchase additional costs go into the freight category, you can set up the cost filter under the Inventory section of your data source:

Purchase Freight Setup

From the following screen, choose 'Purchase Order Shipping Charges' as the Configuration, then create a filter. The filter will automatically be created on the purchase order description field for your IMS:
